thee GO has announced an exclusive partnership with Zeroca, a Dutch carbon tech company to develop a groundbreaking initiative to introduce carbon financing for electric vehicles and EV charger companies for the first time in Nepal.
This innovative program will not just leverage carbon finance to support the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) but also enable EV companies in Nepal to earn foreign currency based on their contribution in offsetting carbon from the environment. The initiative is designed to be open, inviting all Nepalese EV pioneers to participate and benefit from carbon credit aggregation.
The partnership between thee GO and Zeroca represents a significant step forward in Nepal's journey towards a greener future. By pooling resources and expertise, the two companies aim to create a robust framework that will facilitate the registration, verification, and monetization of carbon credits generated from e-mobility. This program will not only support thee GO's leading efforts in EV, charging infrastructure and public transport electrification but will also provide a platform for other e-mobility innovators in Nepal to contribute to and benefit from carbon finance.
On an official statement regarding the partnership Mr. Koen Van Baekel, the Director at Zeroca mentioned, "We're super excited to join forces with thee GO, bringing carbon finance to e-mobility projects in Nepal. We have a shared belief that cooperation and scaling is essential for carbon financing to make a difference in e-mobility. Our exclusive partnership will realize a carbon credit aggregator program for the whole of Nepal. The program will not only encompass thee GO's leading work in EV, charging and the transition to electric vehicles in public transport – it will also be open to all other e-mobility pioneers in Nepal".
The carbon credit aggregator program is a pioneering initiative designed to catalyze the adoption of electric vehicles and the development of a sustainable transportation ecosystem in Nepal. By aggregating carbon credits generated from EV operations and charging infrastructure, the program will provide financial incentives for stakeholders across the e-mobility spectrum. This will help offset the initial investment costs and operational expenses, making electric mobility more accessible and attractive.
During the announcement of this partnership, Mr. Rajan Rayamajhi, the Chairman of thee GO Group of Companies mentioned, “We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Zeroca, a Dutch carbon tech company, to introduce an innovative approach to enabling carbon financing for electric vehicles (EVs) and EV chargers first time in Nepal. As a pioneer in the industry, thee GO is honored to be the exclusive aggregator of carbon credits in Nepal. We are confident that this partnership will benefit Nepal by generating significant foreign currency through the utilization of previously overlooked opportunities. I would like to personally express my gratitude to the Zeroca and our team from thee GO for making this partnership possible.”
